A political activist for over twenty years, campaigning on community, environment, justice and human rights issues, Bronwen Maher works for Nessa Childers MEP in her European Parliament office in Ireland East.
Representing the Clontarf ward on Dublin City Council between the years 2004 and 2009, Bronwen was the sole Green Party representative on the council.
Elected Deputy Lord Mayor of Dublin in June 2005, she was then elected Chairman of the Dublin Regional Authority 2007–2008, and appointed Chair of the Dublin Bay Task Force 2008-2009.
Prior to this Bronwen pursued a career mainly with advocacy and human rights organisations, and as a self-employed consultant (2000-2003). Her work history also includes five years as parliamentary assistant and constituency manager for former MEP Patricia McKenna (1994 to 1999) and also campaign manager for two European Election campaigns.
